The market leader sets high standards in terms of safety for horse trailers
The topic of safety is therefore reflected in the entire horse trailer: in the structure, in the interior, in the exterior, as well as in the handling. At the very beginning is the loading of the horse, where a low loading height and a large passage are advantageous. The large passage is made possible, for example, by the internal tarpaulin lift and the narrow hood edges. To prevent the horse from slipping while boarding, the rear flap is equipped with a high-quality rubber covering with cross tread strips and side stops at strategically relevant positions.
A bright and inviting interior with appropriate lighting also contributes to a positive atmosphere for the horse. This is a fundamental requirement for the transport to begin safely and relaxed. In particular, the blue LED transport light has been proven to contribute to a calming atmosphere.
Inside, a rubber floor with a non-slip textile structure ensures a secure footing. A spacious room concept with plenty of headroom and space for the tail supports the horse's well-being. Different partition wall concepts can be adapted not only to the size of the horse but also to its specific needs. For example, the rear wing of the central post partition wall can be folded to the side to make the entrance appear even larger for the horse. The windows are tinted and protect against sun and light reflections, as these can often trigger panic in the trailer.
Most vehicles are equipped with the special WCF chassis featuring hot-dip galvanized independent wheel suspension, coil springs, and wheel shock absorbers, which ensures above-average driving comfort. Furthermore, for Böckmann, the quality of the materials and substances used plays a significant role. Each vehicle is produced to be extremely stable and safe. Safe means, among other things, that the weight of the horse, which is exerted on the side walls, the floor, and also partially at specific points, poses no problem – not even in the event of an accident.
Essentially, there are no sharp edges inside or on the entire vehicle, only rounded corners. Hinges and screw heads are rounded as well. Each corner is fitted with a plastic cover. All door handles are close-fitting, preventing the rope from accidentally getting caught there. The windows have UV protection and are shielded by a grid, while specially perforated rear struts prevent a hoof from sliding through. Stable angle lever locks, which can rotate 180 degrees, further minimize the risk. The box bars have additional padding, and side pads on the side walls provide extra protection. This prevents injuries due to hard braking or acceleration.
The Multi Safe System (MSS) is particularly important. Because if panic or an accident occurs despite all the good preparation, things have to move quickly sometimes. Therefore, the vehicles offer box bars that enable rapid release. They can be released forwards, backwards, upwards, and even downwards. The box bars can be easily released from the outside at the front and rear through the panic system. The length and height of the box bars can be adjusted. Böckmann has developed a safety concept that serves as the basis for the design and further development of all other vehicles, thus encompassing the highest standards of safety for horse and rider.
