During competitions etc. the horses are frequently attached at the outside of the rear ramp of the horse trailer as both sides of the trailer are hindered by other cars and trailers.
The tying down at the trailer involves always a risk of injury. Böckmann was thinking of the problem and developed lots of details in this respect.
All rear ramps of the horse trailers have open support bows on top of the ramp hinges. These are very solid and are welded – not screwed – with the hinges. Therefore, the point of attachment will stand even the most extreme situations. The top and the centre of the hinges are fitted with protection caps in order to cover cut edges. The shock absorbers of the lifting system are integrated into the hinges and are therefore no risk of injury. Even the lateral braces in the rear are closed and avoid that the horse's legs will be jammed.
If you want to attach your horse at one of the trailer sides the optimal solution would be the new tie-up bar – without rough edges.
The new shock-resistant plastic mudguards are also "horse-friendlier" than the old steel version. No sharp edges, no bumps due to hoof contacts, no rust due to damaged galvanised surface.
Also the door handles have been developed and a rope, halter etc. cannot be entangled anymore.
Again, the experience from the own practice and daily work with horses is continuously improving the Böckmann horse trailers.
