Horse Trailers "Made in Lastrup"
A milestone in the company's history: One of Böckmann's most important innovations was, of course, to have the first horse trailers with a fiberglass roof. But many small details that were definitely an advantage for the horses were also developed and implemented by Böckmann to reduce the risk of injury or simply to make traveling more comfortable. For example the tinted side windows or the height adjustable safety stall system (panic system). Right from the beginning of series production in the early 70's, Böckmann trailers convinced customers because of their exceptionally high quality workmanship. To ensure this quality in every single model, all of the trailers are designed, tested in practice and fine tuned until they are ready for the market and then manufactured by skilled craftsmen in the town of Lastrup, located in Lower Saxony. And with this kind of innovative approach, it will certainly remain that way…
More Than One Success Story: The Other Divisions of the Company
The manifold experience that was gained in the process of developing horse trailers was also utilized in the construction of trailers used for general transportation purposes. In the beginning these were intended just as a side line but this branch has meanwhile become a full success story of its own – with many successful models: from luggage trailers to special flat bed trailers for transporting construction machinery.
Another important line of business is the production of horse vans. Here as well, tailor-made is the standard: since the middle of the 80's Böckmann has been making vans for 2 to 10 horses according to customer specifications. These vans not only provide a high degree of traveling comfort for horses, they also provide all of the creature comforts humans need during a trip: from exclusively equipped kitchens all the way to plasma TV in the living compartment! The reputation of these vans has meanwhile spread all over the world and today many of our vans are delivered abroad.
