In order to improve the comfort for the horses while travelling and to protect them from wind and bad weather, the horse trailer was completed by a closed canvas shelter. |

In the field of carriage manufacture, Böckmann had been one of the market leaders until the production was closed mid of the seventies. Böckmann tested their carriages in the past personally a philosophy which was transferred to the prototype trailers of nowadays. Only if they stand the test, they are further developed up to market maturity. |

Again, on the basis of an own requirement, Böckmann developed a special transport solution for carriages. |

The remove of the Böckmann production into the new factory in the industrial area of Lastrup permitted better conditions for the production. A serial production had been established. |

At the first Equitana Word Equestrian Fair, Böckmann presented a new developed aluminium horse trailer. Together with different companies which were dedicated to the horses, Böckmann participated at the very first Equitana Fair in Essen. Today, the Equitana is the world leading equestrian exhibition. |

Tönne Böckmann took over the stallion stables founded by his father and developed them to one of the most successful private stud-farms in Germany. |

Klaus Böckmann returned to the company after having finished his studies in mechanical engineering. Today and in collaboration with Roger Böckmann he is running the business of the Böckmann Fahrzeugwerke. |

After his technical studies, Roger returned to the company. Today, he is running the business together with his brother Klaus. |

Developed mid of the eighties today standard feature for the trailers: The security stall bar system (anti-panic-system) is adjustable in height (registered and legally protected) and improves the transport for big horses and ponies. |

Motivated by the own requirements, Böckmann developed the first truck bodies for up to 10 horses. |

For Lufthansa, Böckmann developed new flight-containers for horses, which were used for the first time for the Olympic Games in Seoul. In 1996, Lufthansa ordered even more containers for Atlanta. |
